Natalie Murray-Jones

Natalie has over 23 years of PQE in intellectual property law and general commercial law.

Her expertise is in Australian and international brand protection and trade mark law. She has worked for clients operating across a range of industries protecting brands in all sectors and working with some of Australia’s most well-known and innovative companies.

Natalie founded brandU Legal over a decade ago after more than 15 years managing trade marks portfolios in top tier Australian firms.

She is known for her succinct, commercially focused advice on all aspects of branding and trade marks, including the protection and management of extensive Australian and international trade mark portfolios, contentious disputes, non-use matters and infringement actions as well as non-contentious contractual and licensing matters.

Natalie also assists clients to create and execute comprehensive trade mark strategies in Australia and around the globe by leveraging her extensive network of international associate lawyers.

To further support clients dealing with overseas jurisdictions Natalie was appointed notary public in NSW in 2014.

Bea Park

REGISTERED TRADE MARK ATTORNEY 

Bea is a registered trade mark attorney in Australia.  She specialises in all aspects of trade mark law and advises on searching, registering and enforcing trade marks in Australia and overseas.

Prior to working at brandU Legal, Bea worked at a boutique patent and trade mark firm in Sydney for 4 years assisting both local and international clients across different sectors to protect their brands. She also worked in the corporate sector for 6 years at The Weir Group PLC, a UK-based global group of engineering manufacturing companies, where she provided in-house management of its extensive trade mark portfolio and gained practical experience about trade mark protection, including proper use of trade marks and building brand reputation. Bea first became involved with trade marks as an IP paralegal.

Rosie Stramandinoli

TRANS-TASMAN PATENT ATTORNEY (AU & NZ)- CONSULTANT

Rosie is a registered patent attorney and has extensive experience in all things patents. Her speciality is chemical patents. She has a passion for business strategy, innovation and growing her client’s business in Australia and internationally.

Having been a Principal of a top-tier intellectual property firm for over 10 years, Rosie understands the importance of developing robust strategies that achieve business objectives. 

Rosie has a provide ability to identify and pursue business opportunities and appreciates the benefits of nurturing and maintaining client relationships. In 2019, Rosie was considered as one of the Top 205 Women in IP (Managing Intellectual Property) and she has also completed a Global Executive MBA with Monash University. 

Kerrie Burgess

TRADE MARK ADMINISTRATOR

Kerrie provides trade mark administration support, compliance and administrative assistance to the team.

Kerrie is an experienced administrator and has held senior administrative
roles for over 20 years.  She is an adept user across a diverse range of IP and legal software.

Kerrie works closely with the brandU Legal team on the management of trade mark portfolios and assists in the filing, prosecution, registration and maintenance of trade mark in Australia and overseas.

She also assists with trade mark reports and other requests, reports on filing, acceptance, registration and renewal of trade marks. 

Alex Murray-Jones

TRADE MARK PARALEGAL

Alex is a dedicated and detailed-oriented paralegal with a passion for supporting the team at brandU Legal. With exposure to trade mark law and IP generally for a number of years, he has developed a comprehensive skill set and a deep understanding of IP and trade mark law and IP portfolio management. He offers invaluable support to the legal team.

Skilled in legal research and IP case management, Alex ensures seamless handling of trademark cases. He brings strategic insights and a comprehensive understanding of trademark law, contributing to the team’s success on a daily basis.

Additionally, Alex is preparing to qualify as a registered trade mark attorney in Australia.
